What Is Melanin 360?

Melanin 360 was created to be more than just a podcast - it's a brand! 

 

The Melanin 360 Podcast covers topics through the lens of people of color navigating through today’s society.  This podcast discusses everything from mental health issues to the need to have multiple streams of income; family dynamics to 90’s hip hop culture and the importance of black homeownership to our relationship with the healthcare system in a smart, funny and thoughtful way.

The business side of Melanin 360 exists to promote the camaraderie and upliftment of our communities through community service, events, motivational speaking and positive promotion through merchandise.  Additionally through consultations, we are helping to build new podcasters everyday.

 

Melanin 360 is the brainchild of owner and CEO, Jorae Williams.  Jorae was born and raised in the Washington, DC area and is an alumni of Bowie State University and earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism.  Prior to becoming a podcast and radio host and entrepreneur, she spent over a decade working in the areas of civil and human rights, creating programs and trainings designed to advocate for voting, women’s, and workers' rights and the liberation of black and brown people.  The name “Melanin 360” was chosen to illustrate the intention to celebrate and uplift the entire black experience.
